Serenity Wix was born from loss, love, and a 10-year career helping people find peace, comfort, and healing. It started with a journey of finding myself again after having lost my husband most unexpectedly. It began with an idea, and after many months of research and development on my end, it bloomed into a brand and a goal.

How Serenity Wix started from loss

I am a retired massage and bodywork therapist by trade, of 10 years, who ran her own business for those 10 years, and a young 53-year-old new widow who lost her high school sweetheart to an unexpected widow-maker in his sleep in 2023. We were partners for thirty-six years total, married 32 of those years. We were blessed with 4 children, now adults, and 5 grandchildren.

I had spent the last two years in constant thought of what I was going to do and how I was going to start over after thirty years of having someone by my side. I spent a plethora of sleepless nights researching until I was exhausted from looking for some kind of path that would lead me to a new beginning, all the while in mourning for the man who had my back my entire life with any endeavor I was up to next. At 53, starting over later in life is most difficult, but I had to find my niche and purpose again.

Why candles?

I can no longer work in my original career due to my own physical setbacks, but I decided to go back to what I knew best, and that is relaxation, meditation, and health. Candles and incense were a large part of helping my clients feel invited and relaxed, not to mention I use them daily in my own life for the same purpose. The most important aspect is that I wanted them to be toxin-free and healthier for the environment, work, and homes that embodied a clean burn and a soft aroma. After many months of research, I found what I was looking for in development and created my brand that I'm very proud of. 

The business

Serenity Wix is a partnership with a company that develops and hand-pours soy wax in the USA (farmed in the USA), featuring natural soy or coconut/apricot wax blends infused with essential oils and high-grade fragrance oils or both. Serenity Wix is designed by yours truly and is my brand. More information about the candles can be found under the "Home" page.

Moving forward

It has taken me almost three years now to move forward from the travesty of unexpected loss and move into newness and build a life for myself. We miss him dearly, and had it not been for him supporting me most of my life, I would not have had the courage or the strength to rise above and build something new like Serenity Wix.

It has been a year and a half in the making, having a had a soft launch of my products in December 2025. I am now honored to share these premium, carefully crafted, and designed candles with you, with hopes that they bring the same peace, comfort, and healing to your home or office that they've brought to me in my healing journey in designing them.
